Team Expectations

What can I expect from coaches?

This summer you can expect your coaches to provide you with a swim team experience that is fun, and helps swimmers to get fast! Summer club swimming is designed to work within your busy summer schedules and still provide big time drops at meets! Our coaches are centered on 3 things:

  • Go Slow to Go Fast! We have to make sure we have proper technique in order to start improving speed!
  • All progress is worth celebrating! In the world of swimming, even the littlest time drops or technique changes are worth making a big deal about! Whether you are a beginning swimmer or a state-champion... we love progress!
  • Teamwork! While swimming has a lot of individual focuses, our accomplishments are because of our team! Everyone plays a role in our success each season, and being there for our teammates is a big part of that.

What is expected of me as a parent?

We love our parents! We are so grateful for all your support to make this season possible for your athletes. Your role as a parent is to be your child's greatest cheerleader! When athletes get advice from a coach and conflicting feedback from a parent it is often confusing for them. Please allow coaches to provide feedback to athletes, and feel free to discuss that feedback with your child.

Please communicate directly with coaches if any concerns arise, and feel free to reach out if questions come up.

Parents are expected to help fulfill their volunteer requirements or they will lose their volunteer deposit.

What is expected of me as a swimmer?

Come to practice and meets ready to give your best! Swimmers are expected to respect parent volunteers, coaches, and their teammates through their words and actions. While swimming has a lot of individual responsibility- Gator swimmers are expected to be outstanding teammates! Your experience on the team is a result of how involved you are with your teammates an coaches.

Participating in any sport on any team is a privilege! Any time we are at meets, practices, or team events it is expected that athletes exemplify sportsmanship and respect 100% of the time. Actions that are offensive, condescending, or insulting to ANY teammates, parents, coaches, or officials will be discussed with Coach Jamie immediately and could potentially result in dismissal from practice, meets, or the team.

We rely on each other to make this summer a success! Your talents and actions help to make our team great!!
