Week of 6/22
How are we already at week 4 of our season?! Big things to take care of this week will be:
- Cereal Potluck Signup
- 6/27 Home Meet Sign Up
- City Meet Sign Ups
See below for more info!
This week we have:
Monday 6/22: Regular Practice (OG 15+ set up day, arrive at 6:15)
Tuesday 6/23: Regular Practice (OG 13-14 set up day, arrive at 6:15)
Wednesday 6/24: Regular Practice (OG boys 12 year old set up day, arrive at 6:15) with a cereal potluck after practice! If you are able to- please sign up to donate some items or time for this event! I am excited to treat our athletes to a fun breakfast after practice but need some help to pull it off! Signups are on the same page as our meet schedule and can be found under "job signup".
Thursday 6/25: Regular Practice (OG boys 11 & under set up day, arrive at 6:15) MEET ENTRIES CLOSE TODAY AT 4 PM. Reminder that athletes will always be allowed 3 individual events unless otherwise communicated. This is the only reminder I am sending about the 6/27 meet entry deadline closing.
Friday 6/26: Regular Practice (OG girls 12 & under set up day, arrive at 6:15 AM)
Saturday 6/27: Meet at Nelson Farm- SCCA is coming back to our pool for a rematch! Our warmup will be from 7:10-7:30. Athletes need to be in the Gator Pit for a team meeting at 7:00 AM. If your athlete needs their events written down please arrive earlier. Signups for this meet are open- get those volunteer points done for the season! I will have a program by Friday Morning with an ETA of the meet ending time.
City Meet Signups: The city and state meet have the harshest deadlines with no room for changes- as a type A planner it is super important to me that we have those done far in advance. I will have more information on specific times for City this week. Over the next few weeks please help me to indicate your child's preference on what 3 events they want to swim at the city meet.
Because we are going for another city championship this season I am going to let you indicate your preference on entries- but I will be changing them as needed to give us the best chance at scoring points. Distance freestyle, mid-distance freestyle, and IM's are usually a great place for athletes to score lots of points. If an athlete doesn't have a legal stroke for an event, I will be moving them into another event as officials will be disqualifying at the city meet.
This will be a team effort, and I am confident we have all the talent and depth we need to bring home another championship.
So excited for the fast swims ahead!
Go Gators!!
