City Meet Day 1 Recap + Day 2 Info
Hi Gators,
We had an AWESOME day one of City Meet — it was so much fun! The OGs, older Caimans, and distance swimmers absolutely crushed it. Every single swimmer dropped time in at least one event today, many in multiple events. More importantly, it's clear that our group is by far the most friendly, engaged, and supportive team out there.
With two sessions in the books, the Nelson Farm Gators are in...FIRST PLACE! Tomorrow our junior Caimans and Hatchlings will swim with all their might to maintain (and hopefully extend) our lead!
Speaking of tomorrow, two things of note:
1) Families/parents -- you don't need to get there unreasonably early to set up as planned because we were able to leave some tents and chairs up, so we still have a decent Gator territory staked out. But please make sure all swimmers are there by 6:20 am.
2) There's still lots of swimming left in this City Meet, BUT if the Gators hang on for the championship, plan on a quick celebration at the NFAC tomorrow (7/19) night at 7:30 pm. Again, let's not get ahead of ourselves, but I also want to err on the side of optimism get this on everyone's calendar/schedule for planning purposes. More info to come if we get the W!
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers for timing today, and thank you in advance to our timers tomorrow.
And congrats again to all our swimmers for some amazing performances in the pool today - I'm very proud of you.
GO GATORS!
