Meet #1 @ Village Green (6/14) Info

Hi Team,

We're one sleep away from our first real meet of the season!!!

We're heading to the Village Green pool to take on the Village Green Velociraptors, Fossil Lake Ranch Penguins, and the Stetson Creek Cutthroats.

  • The Village Green pool is located at 1831 Valley Forge Ave

We'll set up the team "Gator Farm" area in the grassy rectangle area just south of the tennis courts. See the map attached.

Village Green moved the meet start time up to 7:30 am

Warm up is going to be a little tricky because Nelson Farm has 109 swimmers and we're only allotted 20 minutes for warm up. I'm dividing our warm up into two, 10-minute sessions to help with traffic control. Here are the warm up session assignments

Session 1 is all the OGs and a handful of Caimans:

  • Session 1 needs to report to the aforementioned Gator Farm at 6:15 am

Session 2 is the remaining Caimans and all of the Hatchlings:

  • Session 2 needs to report to the Gator Farm at 6:30 am

It looks like a hot one tomorrow but that's a good thing for a swim meet. Make sure you bring some shade, plenty of cold drinks, and food. Don't forget your goggles, towels, and warm clothes for after warm-up when it's still a little chilly.

Here are some important documents to help you navigate the meet tomorrow:

  • Heat Sheets — they combined a lot of events to try and move things along. Please see the "Combined Events" attachment to see if any of your events are being combined
  • Individual entry reports — to help swimmers write down their events, heat, and lane. (Coaches will help if you don't have time or know how).
  • Relay roster — everyone is in at least one relay unless otherwise noted during sign-up.

Remember to bring/wear all your NFG gear: team caps, team shirts, team hats, and team suits! I want to see more hot pink out there than a sweet sixteen birthday party at Victoria's Secret.

Unless you have a solid reason for leaving early, please plan on staying the entire meet to support your teammates in the relays and distance events, and help clean up our team area.

I know there's lots of potentially confusing information here, so don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Let's go be the funnest, nicest, and fastest team in the pool tomorrow! Go Gators!

Coach Kyle
