Hi Team,

Great meet yesterday! That was a fun event that helped a lot of newbies learn about swim team and allowed all of us to work out some kinks. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers for making it happen, and nicely done to all of our Gator swimmers! I'm purposefully not including results because that's not what yesterday was about. At this point in the season, we're focused on learning to do things the right way (in and out of the pool) and getting our swim legs under us. Nobody wants to win more than me, so trust me when I say there will be plenty of time to get the competitive juices flowing and worry about results. 

After an awesome first week of practice (albeit a bit rainy and cold), I'm looking forward to getting everyone back in the pool on Monday with the warm sun shining. We'll continue to focus on technique, stroke development, and cranking up the yardage as we prepare to take on Fossil Lake Ranch, Stetson Creek, and Village Green at our first away meet. I'll send an email when it's time to sign up for the 6/14 meet. 

A few other things to note:

• The unveiling of the neon pink Nelson Farm Swim Team trucker hats yesterday was met with great fanfare. So much so that many of you requested a second round of ordering to get in on the action.   • Order by 10 pm Tuesday, June 10th — it's a quick turnaround so they get here with enough time left in the short season.
• Team shirts and team caps will get handed out this week! These items are included with your registration. You should use a different cap at practice and try to save the team cap strictly for use at meets so it stays fresh and doesn't rip. 
• A reminder about volunteer requirements...Because of the size of our team this season we are not tracking specific hours. If you work one of the three home meets, your volunteer requirements are met (no matter the job)!
  • Please do not sign up for multiple volunteer slots so we can ensure there's enough jobs for everyone.
