Final City Meet Info!
Hi Team,
Special thanks to Jen West today for taking our team picture. Everyone was wearing a NFG pink shirt - it's an awesome picture!
We are two sleeps away from the first day of City Meet! Woohooo - LET'S GO GATORS
First off, a reminder about our modified practice schedule tomorrow (7/11):
Ages 11 & up: No practice. Sleep in and rest!
Ages 10 & Under: 8:00 - 9:15 am

City Meet 2024 Info
The Village Green pool is located at: 1831 Valley Forge Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80526
Parking is a bit of a nightmare, so please factor that into your drive time.
Warm up times are as follows:
Friday, July 12th — ages 11 & up
- Warm up starts at 6:40 am.
- All swimmers need to be at VG by 6:30 -- do not be late
Saturday, July 13th — ages 10 & under
- Warm up starts at 6:30 am.
- All swimmers need to be at VG by 6:15 am -- do not be late
Due to the expected hot weather, the league decided to push the start of the meet up 20 minutes. Both Friday and Saturday start at 7:40 am.
On both of these days, if we all wait until 6:30/6:15 to arrive at VG, we will not find any grassy space for the team area. If there are any parents who are early risers that are willing and able to get there bright and early to stake out some Nelson Farm territory, please let me know. I'll be there early both days, but I can only fend people off for so long. It's very important that we have a space all together for information sharing, cheering, and finding kids. Please do not go rogue and claim your own homestead away from the team.
There will be concessions at the pool or you can bring your own food and drinks for a full day of swimming (bring lots of cold water/Gatorade). Bring extra towels and warm clothes for after warm-up. Even though it's going to be a hot one, we need to keep our muscles warm. Then we'll need to switch to having shade and staying cool during the afternoon. Don't forget your suit, goggles, and team shirt!
Please plan on staying the entire meet - it is City after all - the last meet of the season for many of us :(
Lastly, please make sure you're doing what you can to stay healthy. Control what you can control — wash your hands, go to bed early, eat healthy, and avoid large crowds. Remember: taper is not just during practice - it's a lifestyle. Stay hydrated, rest as much as possible, don't try any new physical activities, and be lazy (you still need to do your chores but you have my permission to do them extra slow for the next few days.) If you feel like you're going stir crazy and have all this bottled energy, the taper is working!
Heat sheets are attached below. We'll have plenty of time after warm-up to write down events, heats, and lanes. I changed around events for several of you to help the team maximize points, so I'm also attaching an individual entry report which makes finding your respective events a breeze, then you can resort back to the heat sheet. Relay tables are also attached. Please note there are a handful of swim-ups in order to create relays of four (which is required at City).
If you ordered shirts or meet programs, we will have those for you at your respective City Meet day.
Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
Have fun - swim fast. Let's go get that City Championship!
Go Gators!
Coach Kyle
